About GMS Business Development
GMS Business Development was formed in 2012 by Geoff Sear ACIOB after 30 years within construction, firstly as a time served Estimator/Surveyor and then 20 years in Business Development with two major building contractors.

Geoff, as GMS Business Development, works by becoming an integral part of his construction sector clients to procure profitable business, whether that’s by developing / capitalising on their exposure or managing their Bid Writing.
This is Achieved Using a Two Stage Process
1) Gaining an understanding of his individual clients and their businesses through his proven technical and financial experience in the construction sector. Firstly, spending adequate time with them, including if necessary, visiting live and completed projects to find what they do well and profitably. Secondly, agreeing their “achievable” ambitions with regard to business or specific projects.
2) Assisting his clients with these ambitions by a) capitalising on Geoff’s great number of influential business contacts built up and maintained over 35 years and b) where required, combining these with his proven bid writing and document submission success within the procurement and build processes.
Geoff’s contacts and his bid writing have contributed to increasing the profitable turnovers of various construction organisations including:-
- Main Contractors
- Specialist Contractors
- Construction Consultants
Geoff has secured work across most of England but especially in East and West Midlands, East Anglia, Northern Home Counties and Greater London.
